Going to toss this here, since this seems to be the most appropriate.

So Eight's physiology is... weird. She can shift between a super malleable octopus form that is more or less made out of ink to a more rigid humanoid form.

So, first question: when shifting, would it be permissible to use the octopus form to freely remove and acquire the chip? Canonically, they seem to shunt everything they're carrying into themselves so that they can move and and reacquire it when they reform to a humanoid form. Since her body is so malleable anyway, it would seem super easy for her to pop a chip in and out once she's able to do so.

Second may have more to do with a story plot. Octarians are actually a minority in her world, but they supplement their numbers with the ability to self-replicate by using their tentacles. In addition, the biomatter that they use is literally the stuff they use for artillery. When they are "splatted" (literally, killed), their spirits fly to a respawn point and use residual ink to reconstruct their bodies. This seems like something the Sylphid would find Eight's physiology very interesting, since a single Octoling could be the framework for creating an entire army of Sylphid-octoling hybrids.

Just putting that out there, dunno if you'd want to do something with it. :)
